CRIMSON KOI // 紅鯉

Legend says that on the Yellow River there's a waterfall so high that almost no fish can climb it. Thousands of carp try every year. Nearly all of them give up. But the koi that reaches the top passes through the Dragon Gate and, as its reward, becomes a dragon.

That's why, in Japan, the koi is the symbol of perseverance.

The one who doesn't give up is the one who transforms.

Every May 5th, on Children's Day, Japanese families fly koi-shaped streamers called koinobori so their kids grow up strong and keep swimming against the current. The red koi in particular stands for love and the strength of someone who won't let go of what they want.

This tee features a crimson koi swimming beneath a red sun, surrounded by cherry blossoms and signed with the kanji 鯉. On white cotton, the red pops with an intensity you can see from across the street.
