ONI FANG MENPŌ // 鬼の顎

Most masks cover the face. This one only covers what matters: the jaw, the teeth, the place where words come from. It's a menpō, the half mask of samurai armor, shaped into the face of an oni.

The samurai didn't put on the menpō to hide.

He put it on to make it clear there was nothing left to talk about.

In feudal Japan, the menpō held the helmet in place with cords under the chin and protected the throat from arrows. But armorers soon realized it could do something else: strike fear. They carved fangs into it, added horsehair mustaches and demonic snarls. Across the battlefield, the enemy didn't see a man. They saw an oni.

The Oni Fang Menpō takes that idea down to its essentials: an open mouth, always ready, that doesn't need eyes to intimidate.

It's not a costume. It's high-density resin in glossy crimson red, with gold fangs and gold swirls on the chin. It covers from the nose to the chin and has an adjustable strap so you can wear it. Light to wear, solid to display.

It's the most-worn piece for photos, motorcycle rides and outfits: pair it with a black hoodie, a helmet or a Yorumen tee.

How to wear it

Wear it with a black hoodie or jacket for photos, concerts or rides. The strap adjusts behind your head and stays put.

To display it, set it on a stand or hang it on the wall next to other masks: it completes the collection as a piece of armor.
