BLACK ONI // 黒鬼

Some demons announce themselves with color. This one doesn't need to. The Black Oni keeps everything that makes this mask fearsome — the horns, the spirals, the fangs, the frown — in a deep black that doesn't shout: it commands. It's the kind of strength that has nothing left to prove.

No red. Nothing extra.

Just the form. And the form is enough.

In Japanese tradition, black isn't the absence of something. It's the color of what has already been through it all: loss, battle, transformation. Samurai lacquered their armor black not to hide, but so the enemy could see from far away that they had nothing to fear.

The Black Oni is that idea turned into a face. A demon that didn't grow louder as it grew stronger — it grew quieter. And quiet strength is the most dangerous kind.

It's not a costume. It's made of high-density resin with a black lacquer finish and gold edges that trace every curve. The horns rise from golden rings, the spirals on the forehead are deeply carved, and the white fangs cut through the black like light in the dark. The eyes are covered with mesh so you can wear it.

How to display it

Hang it above the place where you do your most important work: your desk, your setup, your drawing table. With a light from the side, the gold edges outline the face and the black turns into depth.

On a light wall it becomes a bold point of contrast; on a dark one, it seems to emerge from it.
